You do need to get with a sensible physician if you're chronically constipated as you indicate you are. If fiber in the diet and plenty of water don't get things going, checks for hypothyroidism, porphyria and even mild hirschsprung's are appropriate.

No, it won't.: Contrary to the article you may have read, there is not much need to eat carbohydrates before bedtime. If you choose to, however, it will not hurt you. Potatoes are fine. Good luck with your liver disease.

Add prunes: Prunes are a wonderful natural laxative for babies.  You can buy plain unflavored pitted prunes and puree them.  Adjust the amount you give based on how her poop does.

my 6 months old baby changed rom nan optipro 1 to  2 and he started solids. butternut, sweet potatoes carrots and rice cereal. hes been constipated and didt poo for about 4 days thereafter, his stool is small and semi hard.  should i give him meds?

Fluids: A small amount of prune juice, 1-2 ounces twice daily may relieve the symptom. Keep the baby well hydrated with formula and provide the solid feedings three times daily. Please follow up with your PCP, watch for any blood or mucus in the stool.

: A change in bowel habits, stool consistency or any other associated symptoms should be concerning and shall prompt a visit to your doctor. Scheduling a colonoscopy may be in order.

Is baby ?: If baby is bothered by the process  I would make some changes. The apples constipate many infants.Full strength prune juice 1-3 oz given spaced out usually loosens them within 3 days.
