No: Individuals with almond-shaped or Asian eyelids tend to have a fold of skin that covers more of the side of the eye near the nose.  It can give the impression that the eye is turned in, but this is rarely the case. Babies often have a similar appearance because the bridge of the nose is flat at birth, which allows more skin to cover the nasal part of the white of the eye until the bridge grows.

i have a lazy eye, which is misaligned. how can i align this eye with the other eye(it is looking a bit upwards, compared to the other)?

Need consultation : With an ophthalmologist and ideally with a pediatric ophthalmologist, who is an expert at strabismus (misaligned eyes).

Perhaps but ?: If the misalignment dates from early childhood and you are not seeing double, then you have one eye with permanently lowered vision (termed amblyopia).  I assume you are not seeing double - which would require an immediate evaluation.  Your best bet is to see an ophthalmologist who specializes in 'strabismus' as vertical muscle imbalance is tricky to fix and requires a true expert.

Sleepy eye: It is possible you may a ptosis or lid lag. Check with your doctor or a neurologist.

Doubtful  both eyes: Amblyopia is a condition in which an eye which is otherwise normal, sees less well. It is almost always caused by some eye malposition or refractive differencies between the two eyes in infancy and early childhood. The pattern of amblyopia becomes fixed if not treated by age 8 years. After that, exercises, etc. Cannot correct the condition. You probably have one normal eye and one seeing less well.

It can be: Many cases of amblyopia are due to differences in refraction between the eyes or grossly out of focus eyes.  Sometimes, it is caused by farsightedness and a common complaint is variable focus.  Getting a careful refraction for glasses can go a long ways towards comfort.

Vision : Vision training by an eye care specialist in vision therapy can be helpful.  Also, there is an at home program that can improve vision, www.Revitalvision.Com the program is $995 and needs to be prescribed and monitored by a physician.  You can contact the company to find a doctor near you who prescribes this program.  It does take a great deal of commitment.  Our patients that have the best results commit to 40 minute sessions every other day for 60-90 days.  We have seen patients improve 3-7 lines on the eye chart.

No: While you can see with both eyes, your brain does not like double vision that comes from an eye that is 'lazy' --- left untreated your brain will 'prefer' the good eye and ignore the images coming from the lazy eye.  There are eye exercises to strengthen the lazy eye or even surgery that can help.

Amblyopia: Your eye is "lazy" because it did not see as well when you were very young and has become lowered in vision although normal otherwise.  We call that amblyopia.  The vision from that eye alone will be less clear but with the other eye alone or the two together, things will look clear.
