do nasal sprays work for snoring?

May help: Nasal corticosteroid sprays reduce inflammation in the nose. This may help reduce nasal congestion that leads to snoring. Snoring is caused by air flow blockages such as collapsing of walls of soft tissue around the throat, tongue blocking the throat, obesity with too much fat tissue around the neck making the airway narrow or nasal congestion with postnasal drip.

nasal steroid spray and cetirizen is not helping my 11 year old son with his nasal congestion due to allergies. still congested and loud snoring at night. what to recommend? he is skinny not obese.

Adenoids/allergies: Avoid allergic triggers and repeat allergy testing. Wash sheets in hot water, avoid carpeting in the bedroom and keep surfaces dust and mold free. Yes: They are safe, whether they are better than oral antihistamines is a clinical judgement/patient experience, ask the doctor who will prescribe it for you, good luck

See below: I've had the best results with astelin.  It is an antihistamine nasal spray and usually starts working within a day or two.  The steroid nasal sprays can up up to 2-3 weeks before you see an effect.  Also, Afrin works very well, but you can only use it for 3 days....any longer you can get rebound congestion.  That's a lot worse than the original congestion.

hi, i am having some problems with my sinuses for a long while. i am struggling to get something that really works. ive tried different types of nasal sprays and pills but nothing seems to work.

what can i do to get my sinuses under control?

What spray?: Certain sprays can work better than others depending on the person. For someone truly allergic an antihistamine nasal spray such as patanase or Astepro can be very effective. Steroid nasal sprays can also help by reducing inflammation but may not help the sneezing as well.

does afrin nasal spray work as good as nasonex (mometasone)?

Apples & oranges: Afrin works to reduce blood flow to nasals tissue, leading to reduced swelling. It is used to treat congestion from colds, allergies, etc. Nasonex (mometasone) prevents only symptoms of allergy, such as congestion, but also sneezing, itching, and drainage. Both are very effective, but used for different indications. Use afrin for only a few days at a time, as your nose may literally get addicted to it.

my 3yr old is always congested. humidifiers decongestants steam nasal spray etc don't work. how else can i help her?

See below: It maybe allergies. You can try a teaspoon of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) every 6 hours. Or a teaspoon of Claritin or zyrtec once a day.

Many: you can try Benadryl (diphenhydramine) at night or around bed time.
you can try a lot from OTC medication that does not have the D part.
