Multiple reasons: Post coital bleeding could be due to several reasons, a friable cervix, polyp on the cervix, minor vaginal tear amongst other things could cause vaginal bleeding  following intercourse.

i don't understand what's causing the vaginal bleeding if i don't have any stds just started after sexually intercourse?

A few possibilities: If newly sexually active, maybe continued hymen tear or other local injury. Otherwise, bleeding after sex often means cervicitis, i.e. inflammation of the cervix. Gonorrhea, chlamydia, and trichomonas are common causes, but most cervicitis has unknown causes. Abnormal cell changes due to HPV is another possibility. Some of these are serious, so see your doctor; it should be easy to find the cause.

Friable Cervix: If you have ruled out cervical infection then that makes this more worrisome for cervical cancer.  An irritated unstable or 'friable' cervix must be diagnosed.

Vaginal bleeding: Bacterial vaginosis often is accompanied by inflammation of the cervix (cervicitis), which can bleed. But there are many causes of vaginal bleeding, and this may have nothing to do with your BV, cervicitis, etc. Any abnormal or unexplained vaginal bleeding should be professionally evaluated. Return to the doctor who diagnosed and treated your BV. Good luck!

No: If you are of menopause age and have gone a year without periods and then start bleeding again, you should see a doctor. Cancer (particularly of the uterus) is an important potential cause that needs to be excluded.

You may be: hysterectomized but you likely did not have complete oopherectomy .  You still have hormones.  Vaginal bleeding is unusual if you do not have any uterus left - I would be concerned there is some hypertrophy of uterine remnant which may be left with cervix, or just plain bleeding from vaginal vault.  Please see a GYN for examination and proper diagnosis.

Likely perimenopause: You are right, this may just be perimenopause. But if  the bleeding is heavy or anything concerning, you should see your GYN to make sure nothing abnormal is going on.

Several: There are several different causes including a growth such as a polyp on the cervix or in the uterus, taking hormones, lining of the uterus that needs to shed, abnormal cells on the cervix or in the lining of the uterus, for example. after having unprotected sex with my girlfriend a few months ago, she went to a doctor with some stomach cramps and vaginal bleeding. could there have been something i might have caused her to have? i have no std symptoms?

: It depends. If you girlfriend is young enough, you could have impregnated her and caused her to have a miscarriage.
