Anatomy?: The transverse colon is riding roughly horizontally on top of the abdomen and the distal part is the part which is closest to the part when the colon descends to become the descending colon.   Just curious as to why you are asking this question since the info is readily available in the internet.

Under ribs: The transverse colon crosses from the left to right under your ribs(usually).Distal means away from beginning(right lower abdomen). I suspect the polyp was under your left rib cage.The important part is repeat colonoscopy at interval recommended by the GI dr.

recently, i was diagnosed with pseudotumor cerebri and on a recent mrv, they also found severe narrowing of the bilateral distal transverse sinuses and plaque, as well. there has been talk of a stent. would it a stent be worth the surgery?

: In your case, appears that a potential venous obstruction may be the etiology of your “pseudotumor”  and surgery may reverse this. But get another opinion to be safe

Performed for cancer: Radical subtotal gasstrectomy is usually performed for mid to distal stomach cancers.  Upper stomach lesions have an Ivor Lewis procedure.  To require pancreas body and tail removed means the lesion performated into the lesser sac to involve body of pancreasa and invade gastrocolic ligament to hit the transverse colon.  If all tumor out, regardless of approach, chemo may still be needed.

Immobilization.: Usually, these fractures are immobilized in a removable boot or cast, depending on the exact appearance of the fracture and your doctor's choice. Hopefully, you will heal this in 6 - 8 weeks.

Healed and pain free: Be patient. Typically these heal 8-10 % per week and take 10-12 weeks to heal.  Muscle atrophy will set in while you're waiting to heal, and this will have to be addressed with rehab.  You can keep your other leg in shape by using a stationary bicycle and pedalling with that side only. Calf pain after the initial injury pain has resolved can be a sign of blood clot so this should be evaluated.

Should be healed by: Now. Weakness is from being immobilized to allow the bone to heal by non wt bearing. Once your orthopod deems the fx healed,  he'll start a supervised p therapy, to increase: strength of muscles & range of motion in your ankle/foot. This can take about 3-4 months, depending on the severity of the injury, result of the surgery, pain control, etc, and how motivated a pt. Is in improving himself.

Maybe: I would check with your doctor. Usually 4 weeks is enough time but it depends on the individual  fracture, symptoms, exam findings, and appearance of the x-rays.
