my disposable mercury thermometer broke and i took about half an hour to clean it (used gloves but not a mask and obvs i breathed) should i be worried?

No: Metallic mercury does not produce much vapor and you will be okay.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex. 
Get HPV vaccine

my offices are insisting on checking out temperature by means of a ear thermometer without a disposable tip. is this considered ok? they insist they are disinfecting what disinfectant would be considered ok 70%+ is dettol acceptable? can i refuse?

With disinfectant: this can be ok, they should clean it every time just before use, ask them to do so for you.

Normal body temperat: That is still in the range of normal body temperature. You are young and apparently healthy so you probably don't get sick often which is the reason you don't get fevers. A viral illness may only raise your temperature a little bit.

how many degrees higher is a rectal thermometer than an oral one?

Varies: If the oral temperature is take correctly, under the tongue with the mouth closed the entire time the thermometer is reading, it shouldn't be much different from rectal.  Babies can't follow these instructions, so if you want' to accurately know a baby's temperature, do it rectally.  All other methods are far less reliable (unless you ask someone trying to sell you something).
