i've been using flonase for a couple of weeks and every night i do a saline irrigation. the medication isn't really helping stop my post nasal drip fully. is the saline spray reducing the effectiveness? i know to builds up so should i stop saline?

PND: You may have allergies causing the PND.  The saline should be helping and won't reduce the effectiveness of the flonase.
You should see an ENT doctor for further evaluation.

Yes: The manufacturers of these apply an expiration date which you can usually find on the packages.  Sometimes these are tricky codes and hard to interpret.  If the package is unopened and is a dry powder, you do not have to worry about these dates.  Liquids may be used if clear and unopened.

Just an opinion.....: I hope you can find a way to avoid it at any time. It is not necessary if you wash well and perhaps use a pleasant smelling body oil and it can be damaging to your body's natural chemistry. Read about the pros and cons and consider it for yourself. If you decide to continue use, i don't think it would be more of a problem during your period.

Better to not: It's better to avoid douching if you can.  Douching removes the lactobaccilli from your vagina, this is the good bacteria that keeps the vagina healthy.  But if your question is, is it safe to douche, the answer is yes, you won't harm your reproductive organs, only possibly dry out the vagina and remove your 'good' vaginal bacteria.  Best of luck!

The tract is quite capable of cleaning itself out nicely when undisturbed but some have been taught that this is a form of standard self care.
