No pills..: There are topical medications you can apply, on a scheduled basis (2-3x/week) for up to 16 wks etc...These are prescriptions.
They can also be treated in the office by your doc/dermatologists.
The current cervical cancer vaccines may help reduce the incidence of gential warts significantly.

Simple skin wart: Simple skin warts are common in children and seem more common on the  back of hands & fingers but may occur on other surfaces. There is a cousin of the wart called molluscum contagiosum that is also common on a variety of surfaces. Mc often causes more itching & falls off after a few months.

Unlikely if ever: Genital warts are strains different from other types of skin warts. They are rarely passed during birth from an infected mother to baby but these appear within 2 yrs on the genital skin. They would be treated or gone otherwise within a few years. The strains are site specific &amp; pass during sexual contact. The germs do not pass casually like common bacteria through objects or passive contact.

Depends: Not warty looking skin lesions are contagious, e.g, seborrheic keratosis looks like a wart but is not contagious. Other types of warts are caused by HPV and are contagious.

Only rarely: Herpes simplex virus, whether genital (usually HSV2) or oral (almost always HSV1), sometimes is spread to another body part ("autoinoculation") during the very first infection, but it's very rare once infected 3 or more months. Genital warts often spread from the genital to the anal area, perineum (between genitals and anus), scrotum, etc, but rarely any further than that.

Skin line disruption: Along with the other answers, there is obvious disruption of the normal skin lines of the feet when encountering a wart.  Callouses will have skin lines running through them, but warts will have a 'stop-and-start'; distribution to the skin lines.
