: Miralax is a laxative. It stimulates the intestines and bowel to move the stool faster through your system. It should not be taken daily, but only occasionally for the relief of constipation that is resistant to diet and fluid intake changes. If you have diarrhea, do not take a laxative as it can cause electrolyte depletion.

Sure, no problem: Diarrhea is a lower intestinal problem. It has no effect on the stomach or upper intestine, where drugs are absorbed. If you vomited soon after taking the drug (within 30 minutes or so) it might be a different story.

: Diarrhea 3 hours later does not interfere with the absorption of the pill in the upper digestive tract. That stool represents material on the lower colon, not up inside the small intestine where the pill was absorbed in the first 2 hours.

STOP!!!: Because it contains free iodine, Lugol's solution at 2% or 5% concentration without dilution is irritating and destructive to mucosa, such as the lining of the esophagus &amp; stomach, whereas doses of 10 mL of 5% solution are known to cause lesions in the stomach lining. You're taking 3x that concentration! STOP, &amp; get medical help right away.

: It would take more than a couple of tablespoonfuls of Metamucil to cause diarrhea. If Metamucil overuse is the cause of diarrhea it should stop within a day or two of stopping the intake of Metamucil.

Diarrhea: Ok first avoid the anti diarrhea medications such as immodium.  They can make the diarrhea last longer.  Use a brat diet (banana, rice, apple sauce tea, toast).  Avoid dairy products as some infections cause short term lactose intolerance.  Reasons to contact an md are blood in stool or dizziness that can suggest dehydration.

Birth control pills: Your regular birth control pills should not be affected by having diarrhea.  They work by preventing ovulation so if you are taking them as prescribed, you should be at no increased risk of becoming pregnant (they are not 100% effective so there is always a small risk).  Protection with a condom is a good idea for preventing STI's otherwise.
