whenevet i feel malaise the only medication that makes me feel better is dexamethasone. i feel serene joyful, painfree.no painkillet or drug works for me.could you pleae advice me what underlying health problems i should check for? hormonal or other?

Warn your provider: Before the procedure, fully advise your team of your bad reaction - they can be prepared to help you minimize or counteract it better than anyone one else. Since those are fairly common reactions, they may be familiar w/ the issue. Also, this sounds like a short-term exposure and there may be few or weaker reactions. Be optimistic - I hope the procedure is successful and reaction mild.

Not quite: They are similar but different chemical compounds.  Both are glucocorticoid steroids.  Solu-medrol is methyprednisolone.  Decadron is dexamethasone.  They have different dosing requirements.

Not so simple : Dexametasone is used in some instances where other therapies don t function . But medicine is more complicated , sometimes it is imposible toanswer a simple question . What s the iagnosis , what is the ast meicl history and many other variabes.

You prob. have to: stay away from all oral steroids unless your Dr feels it is a necessity tthat you be on steroids. Have you ever thought of a beta blocker which slows the heart?

blood sugar 330 after 5 hours of dinner? taking dexamethasone 4mg twice daily. was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes 10 years ago lost over 100 lbs told in remission. taking this for polymyalgia is this the cause will it go away.do i need different drug?

: The typical steroid doses for polymyalgia are much less, in the range  of 10-20 mg Prednisone. Your prescriber should be aware of your hyperglycemia so that steroid doses can be adjusted properly.
