Possible  abscess: Complication of diverticular disease of colon is diverticulitis. Sometimes abscess, mass effect, is complication with perforation of diverticulum. Although there doesn't appear to be a direct link between diverticular disease and colon or rectal cancer, diverticular disease may make cancer more difficult to diagnose.Diverticulitis occurs.

Colon,abdominal pain: Many things can cause vague pain, not convinced it's colon. Need a colonoscopy by a gastroenterologist. Common things are infections, inflammation, and tumors. Best guess in limited information diverticular disease, but you have to see your physician for this.

Need more info..: I would need more medical history. How was the condition diagnised? What were the colonoscooy or x-ray findings? Has there been past surgery or injury? Postoperative scarring from prior surgery can occur but often does not affect the left colon. Diverticulitis can can scarring and colon blockage, but unusual at age 39.

Anatomy?: The transverse colon is riding roughly horizontally on top of the abdomen and the distal part is the part which is closest to the part when the colon descends to become the descending colon.   Just curious as to why you are asking this question since the info is readily available in the internet.

What's gone is...: Gone, but can function quite well with what's left. Colon is about 5-6 feet long. Can do well with the remaining amount. Any surgery can cause internal scars (adhesions), which could cause obstructive issues in the future (or not).

Depends: Some patients may respond to a bile-acid binder such as cholestyramine, immodium or changes in diet.  Best to be seen by a gi.

Accepted Answer

Inflammation: Prominent lymph tissue usually signals some type of inflammation. Deciding what is causing the inflammation is the more difficult aspect here. It could be post-infectious (after a viral GI infection), could be a more systemic infection like mono, could be allergies/food sensitivities....The list goes on. Need to work closely with peds GI to determine if clinically significant and identify cause.

6mm attached sessile polyp ( in descending colon),2-5mm rectum,diminutive polyps.haven't gotten my results back yet from 7/2 should i be concerened?

Depending on: the histology of the polyp survillance colonoscopy may be required every 3- 5 years except for hyperplastic polyp which has no cancer potential

Doubtful finding: It depends on why you had your Colon checked? So tell us your complete medical history and also what type of test was done which showed the colon wall thickening?. Any imaging study that shows slight/mild changes is of doubtful significance. So we have to rely more on your symptoms. Unless you have belly pain or problems with your bowel movements, you can ignore this finding.
