i still have a little over a month before my next depo-provera shot but i've been bleading heavily and my urine is very red now. what should i do?

See the doctor: With persistent bloody urine, you really need to get it checked out. It could be something simple like an infection, but it could indicate other more serious things. Irregular menstrual bleeding is common with depoprovera, but usually after 9-12 months, bleeding stops. If you are beyond this time, and it is just starting to bleed more, ask your doctor.

Yes: If you were testing specifically for progesterone, then likely the test would show up in blood (i'm not sure about urine, I have never heard of a urine Progesterone test).  Women's ovaries also make progesterone, and those levels would also be accounted for.  It's an interesting question you pose, maybe consider re-posting with additional information as to why you're concerned/interested in result.

i 've been on depo-provera for 2yrs went in today for shot and they took a urine sample , it came back positive.i have not had my period at all this year.?

Confirm with blood : Depo-provera failures are extremely rare. It would even be more rare at age 44. In your case i would recommend a confirmation blood test. This would confirm that the positive urine pregnancy test is correct. Ask for a quantitative bhcg.

No: Depoprovera can cause hunger but none of the other symptoms. Please see a primary care doctor to address all of these symptoms and determine the cause.

Take a test: Don’t guess. Take a test.  They are the same tests used in a doctors office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period.  If you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection.

Urinary frequency: Yes pregnancy is a possibility however further testing will need to be done to check for urinary infection or to look for other reasons that may be causing urinary frequency and temperature being "up".

Not true: Pregnancy tests are based on the HCG hormone produced during pregnancy.  If you were to become pregnant while on depo, the HCG hormone would be detectable as with any other pregnancy.

Uti: If you have blood in your urine that is not a contamination from your vaginal discharge, you need treatment to prevent worsening urinary infection.
