This acquired excess of pigment can be attributed to various preceding disease processes that affect the skin such as infections, allergic reactions, mechanical injuries, reactions to medications, phototoxic eruptions, trauma.

Wrist patch: Brown spots can because by many different things. One of those is sun damage but at 26 i would not expect that to happen. It could be that you spilled some lime juice on your arm and then got in the sun! i named a condition called margarita nose in which this happened as a transverse line across the nose which was hyperpigmented or darkened.

Depends: It depends on the features of the spot. Some spots are benign looking, while other are not. More information about the spot (such as a radiology report) would be helpful in telling me whether it is of concern or not.

Bruise: This would seem to be still bruising healing up. Likely it is more deep and likely a contusion of the bone or the periosteum.

First, local measure: If the dark blue knot is not spreading and you an move your wrist in all directions without severe pain, apply frequent warm compresses to the area.  If the probllem gradually subsides, you are home free.  If it becomes more severe, you will need to be seen be your physician for an evaluation

All Is Not In Vein: So-I assume it's long and thin and maybe a little curvy?I want you to hang your hand all the way down and see if it fills up. And if it does,then raise it above the level of your heart and see if it goes flat.If so it's a vein.Welcome to the human race.If not, if it stays flat all the time it may be an old occluded vein(? past trauma?).If none of that works, and it's not a tattoo, get it looked at

Soft tissue trauma: It sounds like soft tissue trauma, but because of the discomfort and swelling it is worthwhile having your finace examined as soon as possible. Excessive swelling can compress important structures in this area and lead to further damage, so be careful and get it checked.

i have a burn on my wrist that is about  2/3 inches long and a 1/2 inch wide. part of the burn is open but the majority is dark grey and leathery. it hurts but manageable. should i go to emergency care?

Yes: important veins &amp; arteries pass thru this part of the body; you might better be sure that your burn didn´t hit any of those; even important nerves pass thru this site!! Go to ER; its not about the symptoms ots about the damage.
