in the last 6 weeks, i have noticed a ring of dark spots around my nipples. i am a 62 yr old male. no itch. they are flat. should i  see a dermatologi?

my nipples will randomly turn a purplish color purple but i notice my right nipple turns a darker purple color than the left. is this normal? it looks like a ring of purple around the edges of nipple(not areola). should i be concerned?

i have a dark ring halfway around areola on breast.  other breast as a white tip on nipple. no chance of pregnancy.  what could cause this?

Several things: This is a problem that requires a face-to-face meeting with your doctor.  In that meeting, your doctor will listen to you, perform a throrough examination and possibly order labs or other tests. Based on this information, he/she will be able to tell you what's wrong and what to do about it.

Yes: The pads from the AED should not be placed directly over the nipple rings but this shouldn't be an issue as typically one pad is placed in the midline over the sternum (between and above the nipples) and the other is placed on the left side, lateral to the left breast / nipple.

Pregnant?: If you have had breast and nipple enlargement, with tenderness, it is possible you are pregnant if you have been sexually active.  I'm not sure what the white ring is -- probably just a variation of normal.  I would not do anything right now, except to keep looking in the next few weeks for any other changes (or more probably normalization to your nipple appearance).

Possibly pigment: It is possible that that is pigment surrounding the areola which is common is pigmented individuals such a Hispanics and African Americans. At your next GYN exam, have your MD take a look at the area for confirmation or not.
