Overkill: This is topical clindamycin. It should never be used alone, but always with some other medicine like benzoyl peroxide. It's too late once a lesion has formed. If acne is a longstanding problem for you, talk with your physician about how to manage it.

No: There are much better alternatives. You assume it is healing "original spots" but these are probably in normal evolution. If you have significant acne, any therapy is likely to show results only after 2 or 3 months. Best result from a dermatologist. Meanwhile, you can try benzoyl peroxide. Note that acne is a matter of genetics and hormones. Not diet or stress or dirt or infection. Not your fault.

It certainly won't: hurt as it is just Clindamycin. It just may be a little drying so I would talk with doc if it's too drying

Need stronger Rx: Dalacin T is clindamycin and it will fail unless you are also using a topical agent such as benzoyl peroxide as tolerated, i.e., until it's definitely not pleasant. This may work. Otherwise, get with your physician again and consider swapping out the clindamycin for a systemic antibiotic for a while, or if your acne is severe, consider isotretinoin which works but isn't for the faint-hearted.

Acne medication: First, use it according to your prescription instructions.  It take several weeks before you may start to see results.  Use it thinly and locally on a clean dry face.  And always use sunscreen if going to be outside.

Two different meds: Differen is a lower strength retinoid comparable to retin a (tretinoin) that may decrease oil gland activity among many other effects. Dalacin t is a topical antibiotic containing Clindamycin and similar to the older Cleocin t. Both can actually be used for acne breakouts, if prescribed and supervised by a qualified physician.

No: Allergic reactions to clindamycin are uncommon with the most common reaction being a maculopapular rash. Skin testing and/or patch testing is not helpful in evaluating this allergy. You are free to take all other drugs as clindamycin does not have cross-reactivity with other antibiotics. Would suggest seeing Allergist to confirm that you are truly allergic.

While on it: You can have side effects of clindamycin as long as you are taking the medications. Some of the side effects need to be treated differently under the direction of the physician

im stuggling with spots after coming off pill. been off for 6mths. i used to use dalacin topical in teens year and it worked well. should i use again?

Acne treatments: If your "spots" resemble the pimples you had as a teenager, then topical Dalacin/clindamycin topical may well be very effective.  
Acne is common at all ages but if accompanied by a flushed face, may be rosacea, an it may respond as well to topical Minocycline.
