There is no exactly: These are fairly rare lymphomas that are hard to define and diagnose. What they are not..Are b cell lymphomas which are quite common in comparision. Usually, cutaneous t cell lymphomas are derived from mature t (immune) cells that settle in the skin where they cause rashes, eruptions, itching. They are usually found early and a dermatologist can actually manage them. Late stages are hard to treat.

Multiple fashions: It varies by stage (spread). It can be treated via chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Some use total skin radiation in some cases. In my practice, even when widespread and felt to be "incurable" focal radiation a small number of worst problemsites (say 2 or 3) can make it a long term issue when other methods of treatment fail. It is best to find a team of local md's who treat it often.

Other types of lymphocytes include b cells.

Many types : There are many types of t cell lymphoma. Some types are very slow growing, treatable but not curable..Patients can live for decades. Other types are much more aggressive. Some are highly treatable and even can be cured while others are quite difficult to get into remission.

T-cell NHL: The prognosis for t-cell non-hodgkin's lymphoma (nhl) vs. B-cell nhl depends on multiple factors, but in general t-cell nhl has a worse prognosis.
One reason is that b-cell, cd20+ nhl can be treated with the anti-cd20 monoclonal antibody Rituximab in addition to chemotherapy. We currently don't have such an effective, low toxicity antibody (biologic treatment) for t-cell nhl.
