Infection: It sounds as if the laceration has become infected and you will need antibiotics. Could also be because you have a piece of glass in the wound causing a foreign body reaction. You need to be evaluated by your primary care doctor.

A cut is a cut: Tetanus is possible when a cut on the skin is contaminated by tetanus spores that are all around, predominantly in soils. It doesn't matter what made the cut if the exposure comes after the skin is open. The rusty nail is the classic source because it is on the ground to begin with when people step on it. Even if low risk it serves as a reminder to update your protection.If > 10 yrs get the shot.

I would encourage: You to have this injury checked medically. If your last tetanus shot was  more than 10 years ago or you aren't sure when it was, then it is time for another one.  Concerned by your description of finger - would want to rule out infection.

Lump: It sounds like fibrous tissue from the residual of the cut. The tissue is not like the rest of the finger. Itchy is a subtle pain. It's best to address this with hand surgery if you want the best opinion. Somethings these scars get better with a gentle massage.

Not likely: It would be unusual for a joint infection to present one month later. Lacerations to the fingers can be stiff, sore and swollen for months. Keep your finger moving and try scar desensitisation massage by massaging the area with hand cream three or four times a day.

i got into a fight, i was defending myself. now my knuckle on my middle finger and ring finger knuckle on my hand are bruised really bad. their sore to touch, stiff, hurt to bend and i have pain in my wrist and up my arm. any ideas?
