: Cure ? The acid is there for a reason. Your digestive processes require that foodstuff enter the small intestine at an acidic pH or digestion will be slow and may loose nutrients. The goal for those with increased acidity is to reduce it to a level where symptoms do not remain.

Hard to say because: There are many possible causes of stomach pain & treatment depends on the cause. Do you mean stomach or abdomen? What type of pain? What makes it better or worse? Diarrhea or constipation? I don't want the answers; i'm explaining that it is important to see a doctor to find the cause which could be ulcers, gastritis, infection, parasites, food allergy, autoimmune disease etc.Need to know to treat!

Protein: increasing the amount of protein in your diet will slow how quickly you digest food and therefore may help you with those feelings. If you adopt a diet that is high in protein and low in carbohydrates your hunger sensations will be reduced. Similar to an Atkins diet.

Complicated: Stomach ulcers must be followed closely as they are not as common as duodenal ulcers, have a lower likelihood of being  associated with acid production, and are more likely to be cancerous. If the ulcer is in the area just as the stomach exits into the intestine, lowering acid with medication and dietary modification are the standard treatment. H pylori is a bacteria that can cause ulcers.

Antacids: Acidity is neutralized by antacids, there are several kinds; short acting and long acting, prescription and over the counter. It is best to get evaluated first especially if acidity is severe as it could be due to ulcers in the gut and treatment is very different. Ask your son to see a doc.
