Vaginal swelling : Would f/u with MD may be yeast infection or  include swollen infected Bartholin gland which may need lancing or other infection.( never had herpes in past? ). Used any new products? as may be allergic reaction.  f/u/ w/ gyn

Topical steroids: If there is no infection, you may have an acute reaction to the gel or some component from the pap exam. It is very unusual. If there is no infection, sometimes steroids are used to calm an inflammatory process

These parts: are easy to traumatize. Warm water soaks, alternating with cool water compress, topical OTC cortaid10, and if getting worse - See GYN, Motrin for pain, Avoid sex for 2 weeks or until tenderness and swelling gone

See a doctor: Without an examination it is difficult to tell.  There are many skin conditions that can effect this area too.  I would recommend follow up with your doctor. In the meantime, avoid scratching.  May try ice every 20 minutes on/off for irritation for 1st 24 hrs.  
Recommend seeing a doctor for further evaluation and testing

Often times, for both men &amp; women, our bits are extremely sensitive after sex, often painfully so such that we can't tolerate additional attention/contact/pressure. More specifically, I'm referring to male glans &amp; female clitoris. So take a breather, snuggle &amp; let time do its thing. If it's that uncomfortable, cold pack + OTC pain relief.
