while i was eating pizza with flour on it, i think a flan blew some of the flour into my eyes, cant really tell, but should i be concerned at all?

Accepted Answer

No problem: Flour is non-toxic and what little gets in your eyes will flush out with  your tears into your throat and GI tract.  Bakery workers have this happen all the time and have no ill effects.

i did no contact delivery yesterday. they put the pizza box on the floor in front of my home. i grabbed it, then 20 min later i rubbed my eye but i forgot to sanitize my hands first. will i be okay..?

Most likely: It is a good idea to have a routine for the delivery of food. Wear gloves, use wipes and wash your hands. The box may be one source of the virus, and also avoid in general touching your face/eyes.  The incubation period is generally 2-5 days, but as long as 14 days.

No: You are thinking of radial keratotmy, or rk, an older technique pretty much abandoned since the advent of laser vision correction / lasik.  Laser reshapes cornea without deep cuts or scars.

Shaking eyes: There are several possibilities:  if this is lifelong, it might be a variant of nystagmus, a condition of "dancing eyes" due to low vision or a nervous system problem usually accompanied by lowered vision..     Or it might be a spasm of accomodation - a sort of hypersensitive stress reaction in which the eyes turn in towards the nose and wiggle back and forth.   How is your vision?

See your MD: This may be serious, especially if you have pain.  You need to see your ophthalmologist.  A foreign body lodged in the eye sets up a beautiful home for invading bacteria.  You are at risk for developing a corneal infection and/or ulcer.  If unattended, this may lead to corneal perforation and intraocular infection with potential loss of the eye.

Try not to rub: Your eyes are sensitive to mechanical irritation, such as rubbing. Try avoiding this &amp; use an over the counter antihistamine eye drop like Zaditor™ twice daily. After three days your itching should decrease. Also to temporiize the itching eyes, cold compresses may help. If you are experiencing sneezing, itching &amp; runny nose, an oral antihistamine like Claritin™ will help too. If no improvement: MD

is there anything i can do for floaters in my eyes.it is driving me crazy!?

Find the reason: If you are bothered by floaters and there is no definite diagnosis, you will need to be seen to make sure there is nothing going on. Some floaters may be bothersome but benign, meaning there is nothing serious or to be treated, but there are other types of floaters that signify a problem that needs to be taken care of quickly.

why do my eyes itch quite often, i use restasis for dry eye but i find myself wanting to rub my eye like crazy..? what can i do?

Allergic: Conjunctivitis. Along with Loratadine, over the counter Ketotifen (Zaditor) eye drops can help with your itching. Allergic conjunctivitis is probably also contributing to your dry eye and so treating the allergies should help with your itching and dryness. Take care.

Suggest: Allergy testing to look for triggers. Common ones are dust mold pollen  it has been too long since wearing contacts for it to be gpc.

See below: Sounds as if you are developing allergies. I would try otc zatidor eye drops. They are a topical antihistamine, and will provide some relief.
