is there a recommended food or drink to reduce cigarette cravings when quitting? what else can i do to assure a successful attempt? thanks

Go for it!: There are no studies about certain food or drinks. Successful treatment will be based on how addicted you are. For example if you need your first cigarette within 30 minutes of waking you may need a combination of nicotine replacement (patch, lozenge, or gum) and medication. Medication could be something like Chantix or bupropion. See your doc.

No worries...: We all get cravings once in a while - this is entirely normal.  Usually the cravings center around a tasty food (never seems to happen with broccoli)  having a craving for milk doesn't mean that you're deficient in calcium or some other important vitamin.  Just go with the flow, and eventually the craving will pass.  Cheers!

Likely nothing: Tastes often change with age. 
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Primary care follow: up is need for complete evaluation. I would recommend to see primary care provider to check your sugars (both spot and cumulative numbers), pregnancy test, and possibly some more based on family history, etc. they will be able to help figure this out. good luck!

Milk craving: The saturated fats in milk may be responsible for your craving. A lack of calcium or vitamin d may be a cause.

always craving alcohol, but i don't drink. why is that?

You felt differently: Apparently, alcohol made you feel differently - possibly, calmer, more relaxed, disinhibited. He also possible, that you have a problem with blood sugar regulation: alcohol is an easy fuel, even easier then a carbohydrate. Talk to your doctor.

Can be a problem: Bovine milk is an easy source of calcium among other nutrients when used at any age over 1 yr. Unfortunately, some kids can overdue it to the point it becomes harmful."Milk cravers" can ingest it to the point they avoid other foods, but the excess can cause microscopic bleeding in the intestines and lead to severe anemia. You need to limit the kid to about 24 oz/day and go see her doc for testing.

is it a good idea to drink more milk for my sweet craving?

Yes: Milk continues to be one of the best beverages for average consumption.  Not only does it contain healthy nutrients and vitamins, it also replaces the other beverages high in high fructose corn syrup. So by all means drink up. Obviously it's best to stick with the low fat variety.

2 weeks taking oral naltrexone.  buzz is gone, but cravings have increased and now i drink more - 6-10 every other day! is this temporary?!

Talk to your doctor : You may want to ask your doctor about adding Campral to the Naltrexone. Also, be sure to go to AA meetings.
