Cramping: Some cramping is common around 5-6 weeks and even light spotting can happen.  Avoid sex for now as you will cramp for 2-3 days afterwards.  If the cramping is one sided that is a bit more concerning for a risk of tubal pregnancy or ruptured corpus luteum.  If tylenol (acetaminophen) relieves the cramps, its likely just your uterus growing or cramps from sex.

Ov. cyst vs.Preg.: Are you sexually active? If you are and not using birth control this could mean that you are pregnant.  It could also mean that you have an ovarian cyst or some other cause of hormonal imbalance.  Please see your provider to sort this out!

Hormonal imbalance: Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time. You may consider implanted contraceptive or IUD.

Probably normal: If have have received your Depo-Provera at the appropriate times, the brown discharge is most likely blood and is a common side effect with depo-provera.

An : An iud by itself gives you a less than 1% of getting pregnant - it's 99% effective.  If you are concerned about pregnancy, you can either take a home pregnancy test or go to your doctor for one just to put your mind at ease.  The symptoms of pregnancy can be very vague and are easily attributed to other illnesses. If you have not been feeling well, it might be worth visiting your doctor for an exam.  Good luck!

Period bleeding?: Each woman is different regarding her period.  Some women tend to have cramps during their period others do not.  Periods can vary a lot for a woman.One period may be tough and another one a breeze.

The Norms of Menses: Yes, most likely.  But if there are any other symptoms not described in your question or if you could be pregnant then i would consult your gynecologist.  Many women have these kinds of cramps, some always during their cycle and others just once in awhile.
