I hope it's: Sugarless gum.  That is excessive  regardless of the type of gum.  Please exercise moderation !   i would be more concerned about the sugar intake and dental caries.  Please check with your dentist.  Hope this helps.

Discoloration: May be as innocuous as an area of pigmentation or as serious as a lesion.  Please have area examined by your General Dentist or by a gum/bone specialist, a Periodontist, for a definitive answer.

No: As with food products, gum too will pass through the gut without problem. Some studies have shown chewing gum to be effective in reducing symptoms of gastric reflux (heartburn). But there have been no studies showing that swallowing gum is problematic.
