Male or female: Occult bleeding found on testing would be an early sign
Obvious bleeding
Stool changes, obstipation,, constipation, obstruction, weight loss, palpable abdominal mass, and signs of metastatic disease.
The large bowel may have a large lesion before any signs, and that is why colonoscopy is considered as we age.

3yr old has leg (shin) pain usually in one leg on and off for over a year could this be serious? is this a symptom of cancer? :(

Be seen: It is not really a normal complaint for a three year old to consistently complain of pain in the leg for a year.  So I would certainly take him in for an exam and appropriate studies.

lost 50 lbs not trying been in touch with my doctor seeing her next week.. does this half to b cancer (no one suggested just know it can a symptom) or can there be other causes for this unexplained weight loss?  just anxious..  thank you?

Most feared: While cancer is the most feared cause for unintentional weight loss, there are many other causes that will have to be ruled out, such as malabsorption syndromes, thyroid disease or drugs/ supplements with weight loss as a side effect. You are doing the right thing by seeing your doc.

Can be: But is also seen with many other problems related to lungs and heart, sometimes as "simple" as a bronchitis. It should be evaluated, though. It can be something serious, especially if the patient is a smoker. Do you smoke?  Hope not....

Need to examine: Skin cancer can develop anywhere, but it is less likely in an area covered by hair. If you have any doubt, see your doctor.

Too non-specific!: It copuld, but there are many causes including simple hip arthritis, trochnteric bursitis, etc.  Also, prostate cancer first metastizes to the pelvis and spine, before peripheral bones! see your doc!

why does anxiety make you feel like one symptom of being sick is cancer? my gf is nausea and scared of brain tumor. she googled.

Automatic thoughts: Our thoughts are very automatic and our mind is looking for answers.  If she interprets her nausea as something to be afraid of, her mind will suggest possibilities and could include cancer.  The key is to not always believe the first interpretation of a situation.  She may benefit from going to a doctor and also a therapist.
