can stem cell therapy help with valvular aortic stenosis?

Not at present: Valvular aortic stenosis describes the presence of a valve that is malformed . Like putting a 1/2 inch pipe fixture on a 1 inch water line, it restricts the flow of fluid thru it. It must be stretched or replaced. I have read of research to build body parts( the correct size) using stem cells and acellular matrix, but availibility is years down the road if ever.

Depends on severity: Any baby with a congenital heart defect is worrisome. Depending on the type of defect (can be very minor to sometimes fatal), each baby will have a different outcome. The pediatric cardiologist caring for the baby knows the most because he has many other children as patients, who have similar heart defects. He can estimate the outcome but won't be able to make exact predictions.

Nope: Aortic stenosis is, in simple form, limestone forming on the valve.  Xarelto (rivaroxaban) is a systemic blood thinner, and while it can decrease blood clots, it cannot melt limestone.  The only true treatment for aortic stenosis is surgery, to be used when the stenosis is severe enough.  Statins have been studied extensively and showed initial promise but that didn't pan out.

i was told that my heart looked great at the cardiologist after my echo. i was referred for a cath prcedure. cath showed significant aortic stenosis and a stiff left ventricle. can an echo miss these problems?

: The function of the heart, on the Echo, can remain normal despite significant narrowing of the aortic valve.  However, that narrowing (stenosis) should be visible on the Echo.  It might have been the reason you were advised to undergo a Cardiac Catheterization.

Not likely: Moderate aortic stenosis (or was it aortic valve?) is unlikely to cause fainting.. More significant is the cardiac hypokinesis, which could indicate a heart attack.. Please review with your Dr or cardiologist !

Probably not: Aortic stenosis itself can cause increased heart size (cardiomegaly) as it progresses. Diabetes plus aortic stenosis does increase the risk of reduced blood flow to parts of the heart. This can lead to reduced motion (hypokinesis). Severe asthma can cause enlargement of the right side of the heart, but if you have your asthma under good control, this is not contributing much to your situation.
