Not necessary: There's only one kind of "allergy" to anesthesia that would be of great concern; that is malignant hyperthermia.  If that runs in your family, you might consider being tested.  It's not really an allergy though.  Otherwise, there's no need to test for allergies to anesthetics.

Drug allergies: There are many drugs to use in inducing general anesthesia, mostly a combination of intravenous and inhalation agents. The reaction to these drugs if occur if very fast and very dangerous. Please discuss your drug allergies with your anesthesiologist.

2nd opinion.: Even if you are allergic to one type of anesthesia, there are other options and thus "allergic to anesthesia" is not a justification.  Since there are other causes for pain (which you have not specified), you need to consider getting a 2nd opinion for your pain.

No: Pediatric anesthesiologists are very competent.  Your child should not be affected by the gases used.  Do not worry.  Putting tubes in a 14 month old is a fairly routine procedure in a children's hospital.

Get the records: Though difficult, the records are in fact probably available. This may be worth the struggle to acquire them. Try.  If not, review carefully with the surgeon and anesthesiologist in advance. Tell them what kind of anesthesia (general vs. Local vs. Spinal vs. Epidural), whether you had an antibiotic, and what type of symptoms you had. They will monitor you carefully and keep you as safe as possible.

4 y.o scheduled for surgery but no pre-op tests were ordered?  normal? how will i know he will not have allergic reaction to anesthesia?

History: Unless you have a family history of adverse reactions to the muscle relaxant used in anesthesia, most anesthetic agents are safe if properly administered and monitored. True allergic reaction to anesthesia is very rare if present at all.
