Colectomy: There is some weight loss following major surgeries but patients regain this weight after a while. If you don't you will have to see your doctor as there could be other reasons for weight loss at your age.

Maybe adhesions?: Causes of recurrent llq abdominal discomfort may be identified by first addressing accompanying signs/symptoms so as to localize the organ involved: vaginal discharge or bleeding, alteration in periods, pregnancy risk? Fever, nausea, vomiting, altered stool pattern, blood with stool, tenderness, distension? Painful urination, blood in urine? Recent trauma, herniations? Age? Gender? Risk factors?

Other treatments: There are medications chronic constipation so see your doctor or a gi. I do not recommend surgery.

Ileostomy reversal: Although it varies slightly depending on exactly what kind of reversal will be done, surgical complications such as infection and hematoma are rather unusual these days. If you follow your surgeon's advice, they are unlikely to happen. If you have any problems after the surgery, be sure to contact the surgeon promptly. Good luck

Epidural: You can have an continuous epidural for the first several days to control the post op pain and decrease your stress response.

Pain meds?: The most common cause of nausea and vomiting 2 weeks after colon resection is taking your pain medications on an empty stomach.  If that is not the case then contact your surgeon to discuss other possible problems.

i had a laparoscopic colectomy with ileorectal anastomosis surgery on 1/18 and i am experiencing cramping when i lay down and at night. is this normal?

Still early: Our surgery was only a few weeks ago, give it a few more weeks and i suspect things will get better.

In : In general, having a colon resection should not interfere with having a band or a sleeve gastrectomy since the surgeon doesn't have to interact with the portion of intestines that were involved in the original colon surgery.  If your colectomy was for crohn's disease, technically the lap band and possibly the realize band are contraindicated (please confirm with your bariatric surgeon).  Any other cause for colectomy including ulcerative colitis shouldn't be an issue in terms of getting the band.

Depends: I  do not know why you had colon surgery. Some surgeons trained with performing a transverse incision for right colon surgery. It may be a personal preference of the surgeon, or your type of condition was best suited for that incision. Your surgeon would be able to better inform you as to reasons for a type of incision.
