Yes, : Yes, alcohol does have an anticoagulation effect by making the platelets "less sticky" when consumed by itself.

I know you realize that what you are doing, stopping warfarin, is extremely risky.  Please re-check your inr and discuss these issues with your physician.

Helps: There is no 100% guarantee that anticoagulation will prevent DVT during pregnancy.  There is no reason to be on anticoagulation unless you have had a prior dvt, are a high risk pregnancy or are hypercoagulable. Certainly the imput of your ob/gyn and either a vascular surgeon or vein specialist would be important.There are many routine things to do during pregnancy to prevent DVT such as supp hose.

Yes it can: There are women with a predisposition to blood clotting.  In many cases they have a history of a DVT (such as you).  In most cases, they are on a 'prophylactic' dose of Heparin during subsequent pregnancies.  This dramatically reduces their risk of DVT during pregnancy, but it does not make it a zero risk.  If a woman develops a DVT during pregnancy, they should be placed on 'therapeutic' dosing.

Vasculitis and petec:  Anticoagulants do not make a person bleed, but they do slow clotting which may make bleeding more severe when it does occur. The patient was an underlying condition associated with hemorrhage (a stomach ulcer, the recent surgical procedure, other such conditions) will be more likely to experience a problem. Vasculitis and petechiae are not associated with hemorrhage, so this does not apply.
