Terbinafine: Caution. The body breaks down the caffeine in coffee to get rid of it. Terbinafine (Lamisil) can decrease the rate at which caffine is eliminated from the body. 
the higher levels of caffeine then increase the risk of side effects including jitteriness, headache, increased heartbeat, and other effects.

aside from retaining caffeine longer, is there any bad side effect to consuming lots of coffee while on lamisil (terbinafine)  tablets for fingernail fungus?

Unknown.: Lamisil (terbinafine) decreases the clearance of caffeine by about 20%. U need to be careful if u have a condition that can be aggravated by too much caffeine (ex. Hi blood pressure, anxiety, etc...) . Nonetheless, talk to your dermatologist about "pulsing" lamisil (terbinafine). Essentially, it enables you to take half the number of tablets of Lamisil (terbinafine) during the 3-4 month treatment without compromising any efficacy.

is stopping my use of terbinafine 1 week before i plan to consume alcohol safe?

No alcohol: Alcohol is a poison that never did anybody any good, ever, so stay away from it.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

i was on a ten day dosage of terbinafine. i took my last pill today. is it safe to consume alcohol?

Enjoy: That should be fine. If you have no underlying liver disease, there is no problem. Don't overdo it, but a drink or two is fine

Lamisil (terbinafine): This compound may have liver toxicity.  Although there is no direct proscription against drinking alcohol with this medication, since alcohol may also have toxic effects on the liver it would probably be judicious to avoid drinking while taking it, although no direct evidence to avoid taking it.

Terbinafine: Taste disturbance may resolve within several weeks after discontinuation of treatment, but may be prolonged (greater than 1 year), or may be permanent. If symptoms of a taste disturbance occur, Terbinafine tablets should be discontinued.

: Terbinafine concentrates in the skin after you take it, and while it has a serum half-life (the time it takes to clear half the drug from your bloodstream) of 14 hours, its half-life in skin is from 8 to 16 days. Photosensitivity is a known side effect that occurs in from one to ten percent of patients, so if you are in that group, you may sunburn more easily, but this effect decreases daily.

i'm having oral terbinafine. now, i'm advised not to go outside during daytime. because terbinafine makes skin more sensitive to sun. if i stop taking this medication today, will i be able to go outside during daytime tomorrow?i've already stopped it?

: Terbinafine can take up to a week to be totally removed from the system. Since it is a lipophilic medication, it may remain in some fat cells for longer. Make sure you wear long sleeve, covering clothes and sunscreen for at least several weeks.
