Constipation: My first gut sense as a physician is that you must be dehydrated. Your body is trying to compensate by keeping ahold of as much fluid as possible. This can lead to constipation and dark urine.

Please begin drinking fluids until your urine returns to normal.

If you are not having any fevers or pain from the constipation one of the tricks is to drink three liters of fluids in one hour.

Good start but...: How do you define "constipation?"  a medical definition is bowel infrequency (less than one bowel movement every 3-4 days). I know of no patient who died due to bowel infrequency, straining, or episodic constipation. On the other hand, an obstructed colon (due to inflammation, mass, impaction, pseudo-obstruction) risks ruptures, leaks, infarcts. Especially if in agony, go get checked now please.

Dehydration: Urine can appear dark for may reasons, but the most common is from relative dehydration. When the kidneys are trying to conserve water they decrease the amount of water excreted, and the urine is more concentrated and appears darker. I would suggest increasing fluid intake.

Not necessarily: Dehydration, liver problems, gallbladder problems, blood disorders &amp; a myriad other things can cause this.Opiates like lortab can overtax an already damaged liver &amp; exacerbate the problem, but likely there is an underlying disorder.A good history &amp; physical exam &amp; likely urine &amp; blood tests &amp; imaging like ultrasound/CT of liver may be needed to find cause &amp; determine appropriate treatment
