Stuff going up/down: Upper respiratory issues (sinusitis, allergies) causing mucus drainage down the throat or acid reflux up the throat can commonly result in those symptoms. Acid reflux or "silent reflux" commonly causes throat clearing, sensation of something stuck in throat, voice changes, post-nasal drip or phlegm in throat, and cough. Stay hydrated and see your doc!

Allergies??: The throat clearing may be associated with allergies especially to dust  or dust mites. See an allergist for some testing. Good news is that this symptom has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with  HIV!

6 year old children. can adenoids cause throat clearing in the morning and evening? no other symptoms?

Virtual consult: Please see previous reply. It may block adequate or smooth airflow and cause snoring. Post nasal drip and inflammation of the passages may be the cause of both enlargement of adenoids and post nasal drip/clearing. Allergy testing, avoid smoke and allergic triggers such as dust, mold and pollen. A virtual consultation is available on HT. Rinse nasal passages with nasal saline.

inhaled rice or corn or peas. i coughed but as i had a mouthful of food i can't tell what it was or if i coughed it all out but now constant throat clearing and burns a bit. do i need to see a dr or is there something to look out for to warrant a dr?

LERD & Dysphagia: Exposure of the vocal cords to stomach acid & pepsin will result in inflammation of  vocal cords (as is also often seen with acid regurgitation) = lerd. Acute laryngitis may result, but watch out for chronic hoarseness, throat clearing, airway spasms, bronchitis, an asthma-type presentation, & even a higher risk of throat cancer. Dysphagia with gerd, weight loss, hematemesis requires evaluation.

Cancer unlikely: You may gargle with wart salty water. If that does not help, you may consider getting a blood test for a mild form of cystic fibrosis. Cancer is unlikely at your age unless you have been a heavy user of tobacco and alcohol.

my almost 7 yo son has constant sniffing, throat clearing, and mouth stretching. his pedi  has told me not to worry but its been over 6 months?

Could be allergies: Are causing his nasal drainage (which causes throat clearing). Environmental allergens (molds & dust are noticable during winter months, and you've seen his symptoms for 6 months), but foods can also cause similar symptoms. I often recommend the airfree purifier to eliminate mold, homeopathic mold and dust remedies, and if foods are the problem, eliminate wheat and dairy for 2 weeks then challenge.

Maybe?: COVID 19 Sx's may include fever, cough, feeling tired, shortness of breath, muscle aches, headache, sore throat, chills, chest pain, nasal congestion, loss of taste or smell, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea. Sx's are c/w many different causes.   Consider consulting with your doctor. Get urgent care for difficulty breathing, blue lips, persistent chest pain/ pressure or new onset confusion.

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without examining you, however, zantac is not an appropriate medication for your issue. Your symptoms do not seem to indicate any serious health condition.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

frequent post nasal drip, each episodes last 6 weeks. causes breathing problems, choking, constant throat clearing. is it exacerbated by my goiter?

Goiter : Get an ultrasound of neck or MRI done to  follow the thyroid goiter.
