They range from benign (like lymph nodes responding to an infection, cysts, or non-cancerous tumors) to serious things like cancer. You should see your doctor for an exam. Masses in the neck (especially in someone who uses tobacco) that don't go away need to be evaluated by an ENT doctor.

Mass in neck.: Masses in neck are indeed potentially worrisome, but an ultrasound, simple labs, a physical exam and behavior of the nodes over time can usually sort this out and alleviate the worry.

Hard to say: so you had a breast cancer and now you have a mass on your thyroid and spleen and the result pending but you had a PET scan only for the neck that showed bright spot on the neck
the PET scan could indicate either the thyroid mass or it could be showing a lymph node on each side of your neck that could eventually be related to the mass on the thyroid

See hematologist: It sounds like a generalized lymphadenopathy.  What the reason is is what he will tell you

Head and Neck Masses: Mri uses large magnets to create images of possible masses. Mri is a related technology that images blood vessels to look for blockages or aneurysms (ballooning).  While there are some more specialized tests to look at certain areas, in general, the answer to your question is yes.

Lots of things.: Causes range from enlarged lymph node, cyst, abscess, enlarged thyroid, and scar tissue, to a tumor.  It's best to have the doctor evaluate it.

Neck Mass: If you have a neck mass go get it checked now! who knows if it is related to the accident or you have something else, i'm not going to specualte at to what it is, you need an examination and likely some radiology studies.

No: It is better to assume that this neck mass is unrelated to the accident.  You should have this checked by your physician or an ENT to determine if further work-up is needed.
