Herpes still likely: Latex allergy (i.e. condom) is possible not not likely; usually itching, not open sores. Other allergic reactions; rare disorders like Behcet&#x27;s disease; some non-STD viruses; others. But why so certain it isn&#x27;t herpes? That&#x27;s by far the most common cause of such symptoms, even among persons who are &quot;sure&quot; their partners couldn&#x27;t have it. See your doctor and follow her advice. Good luck!

Vaginal pain: A burning area on the inside lip of the vagina requires and examination to confirm the diagnosis. A small tear or traumatic injury from intercourse is certainly one possibility. Herpes infection is always a concern when a patient describes an area of vaginal pain. See an Obgyn to have an examination done.

i used a contraceptive (latex condom) and during the sex found it painful, as i wasnt lubricated. after,found that the opening/ inside of my vagina has become very sore and formed a white layer? which i assume may be a scab? from a friction burn?

: Good news &amp; bad news. The good news is that you used a condom for sexual interaction. The bad news is that it wasn't lubricated and yes, it will feel like an emery cloth or sandpaper during prolonged use.  Condoms do come as lubricated all in one varieties for future use. It also is helpful to use a water soluble lubricant. If the area is not healed, see a GYN MD to avoid a secondary infection.

Inadeq lubrication: If vaginal lubrication is not adequate, the delicate skin at the opening of the vagina and in the vagina itself can be traumatized, causing pain.  If there is not enough natural lubrication, an over-the-counter lubricant (particularly a liquid one rather than a gel) can be helpful.

Pain during sex: You may be having an allergy to his ejaculate.  You both might want to see a doctor and have allergy testing done.

Not necessarily: You may be reacting to the condoms- either the latex, the lubricant on them, or the spermicide. It's possible you need more lubricant if you are not getting enough vaginal secretions before intercourse. Try a different condom (read the labels to look for a latex free one). Use a good lubricant (non-scented, water based is probably best with condoms). If not better, see your doctor.

Need lubrication: The friction burns, or abrasions, come from rubbing of the shaft of your penis against the vaginal wall of your partner. Be sure there is sufficent lubrication, either from foreplay or a water-soluble lubricant (e.g., KY jelly). Also, be sure you are gentle enough. Finally, if you have signficant abrasions; you might refrain from activity until you are fully healed.

Many treatments: See a dermatologist or an experience Family Medicine doctor. There a number or treatments for this, steroid and retinoid creams to name just two. Someone will need to see these because the most effective and safe treatment method will depend on where these lesions are.
