If you are already: impaired it would be prudent to avoid things that might exacerbate or magnify the impairment you are already experiencing. Alcohol is not a good idea in your current condition.

No: Drinking puts you at risk for another concussion which can be extremely dangerous if you have not healed from the first one. Up to two-thirds of people with TBI have a history of alcohol abuse or high-risk drinking.

Yes: Recovery after head trauma can take 1-2 years. It is better to eliminate all and any insults to brain, including alcohol after repeated head injury to allow recovery.

Wouldn't recommend: After a brain injury, it would be better to avoid alcohol and any other nervous system depressant for quite a while.  Remember, it the only one your have or will ever get.  Take care of it now.  It has to last a life time!  discuss this with your pcp, neurologist or ns who treated you.

No: Concussions are a type of  brain injury. Your brain needs rest.  While it is healing it is very sensitive to stress, such as drinking.   Allow your brain to heal completely before resuming drinking alcohol.
