i recently had a wart on my finger and at the same time few warts started developing in my groin area, near the base of my penis. can the ones in my groin area be common warts and not genital warts? would my new born niece get hpv if i carried her?

Different warts: (Human Papilloma viruses) tend to be on different parts on the body. So, a wart from the foot is not likely to become a wart on the genital area.

It's moot: Everybody has at least a few strains of HPV on board. Life's too difficult already, and love is too precious, to focus on 'Can I catch a wart?' Barrier protection is the norm for smart people nowadays for many even better reasons. If you've found someone special, don't let this stand in your way. And if it helps... 'nobody knows.'
