Both have flu.: What you are describing is the flu.  This is a viral infection, that will resolve by itself.  The only treatment is symptomatic - tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen; if you have a lot of nausea, call your physician for a prescription to relieve it.

Gastroenteritis: Sounds like a viral GI infection.  Hydrate and consider taking something for the diarrhea.  Diarrhea cramping can be quite painful.  If it gets worse, you may need to be evaluated to rule out things like appendicitis

: The duration of your symptoms is not specified. If there has been prolonged congestion, discuss a course of antibiotics with your PCP. Nasal saline rinses often relieve symptoms.  Maintain good oral hygiene. Monitor temperature and watch for productive cough and fever.

Rest, water, time: We don't have a quick fix for the cold yet.  Acetaminophen and other over the counter medications will help with the symptoms though.

Virus: The common cold is a virus, and it cannot be treated with antibiotics.  Those are only good for bacteria.  You can only treat the symptoms of a cold, but you mostly have to let it run its course.
