Biceps injury: The biceps tendon comes off the upper arm and inserts onto the proximal part of the forearm bone (the radius). During an arm wrestling event the biceps comes under tremendous load and this load can overload the insertion site of the tendon on the bone causing a significant injury or actual tendon tear. A thorough orthopaedic evaluation is now warranted.

could those handgrip workouts help with arm wrestling?

Accepted Answer

Some: Handgrip helps build the small muscles of the hand and finger flexors which helps to some degree in wrestling. However, the larger muscles of the shoulder and wrist control this activity more and those will be better to build up for this activity.

a couple of weeks ago i was arm wrestling, and ever since then if i hold something awkwardly or put too much wait on it, it will hurt for half an hour?

See you doctor: Arm wrestling may cause severe injuries. Various injuries after arm wrestling have been reported in the literature, whereas the most common injury is the humeral shaft fracture.

Fracture.: It could be  a fracture of the upper arm bone. We had a patient in a few months ago, who ended up with a fractured humerus ( arm bone) from arm wrestling.

how much is arm-wrestling an actual measure of bicep strength?

Accepted Answer

Partially: There are many muscles (including the biceps) in arm wrestling.  Use of all of them contribute to the ability to perform. Example is your shoulder muscles which must stabilize the arm during the effort, etc.

i was arm wrestling a very strong person ... my wrist made some awful crunching noise . now it hurts to do anything with it?

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without physical examination and may be x-rays. It would be prudent to see your doctor, or go to an emergency room of a hospital.

Shoulder pain: This could be a strain or a torn muscle.  If you are still in pain, you may need an mri.

why does my radius bone in both of my arms hurt after arm wrestling? it only hurts when i lift weights and this never happened before?

: I'm not sure you can differentiate bone pain from muscular pain. In my opinion, muscle strain or overuse is a much more likely cause of pain after lifting weights or arm wrestling. Is your lifting technique good ?  Have you increased weight amounts or reps too much?  Abstaining from those activities for a week or so would give the arms a chance to recover.

Injury: Like most injuries a strained wrist is caused by excessive force or repetitions . The sounds should subside if you give it time without further aggravation.

Post-exercise: Post-exercise inflammation and swelling of muscle fibers and/or connective tissue. The symptoms include muscle stiffness, palpable tenderness, and pain with active muscle contractions. Moist heat, rest, muscle stretching and aleve (naproxen) otc will eliminate the problem.
Rec.: if the condition is persist over a week, see your doctor.
