Trees in early spring, grass in spring and summer, ragweed in fall, dust and molds are usually all year long, but most common in the winter when baseboard heating is used.  If you are symptomatic and an antihistamine is not effective, see an allergist.

: You can develop an allergy to something you have been exposed to at any time. An allergy is your immune system reacting to something it is exposed to and this can happen at any time and at any age. Anaphylaxis is a severe allergic reaction so it, too, can happen at any age to anything you are exposed to, including foods. Whatever is commonly eaten can become an allergen.

could someone with a food allergy possibly breathe something they are allergic to and have a reaction with hives? my son is allergic to something so we have been avoiding a lot of the most common allergens but is still breaking out in hives.

Allergist: Finding the cause of recurrent hives is very elusive and in these cases an allergist is best qualified to do the investigation. The offending agent could be internal or external including temperature change, exercise, etc. While waiting for the allergist's appointment, the pediatrician may prescribe an antihistamine for symptom relief.

Sinusitis: Sinus infections are a common cause for excessive post-nasal drip. This diagnosis is commonly missed by physicians who mistakenly believe that clear nasal discharge is definitive proof of the absence of infection. A cat scan of the sinuses might be needed to detect a low grade chronic infection.

i recently discovered my ibs problems were actually allergy/intolerance to egg, but now i'm afraid of common allergens (nuts,fish). is this illogical?

Intolerance: I believe that you are intolerant of eggs with respect to your IBS and since this is not a true allergy there should be no cross reaction to other foods. Any intolerance of other food substances are indeed possible but would not be a true cross sensitivity.

baby is allergic to cooked chayote, face and mouth rashes and itchiness. is it common? what are causing allergens and things he may be a allergic to?

Cucumbers?: This is not a common allergen. If the rash is located around mouth only, it could be contact allergy to chayote or any other items added as flavoring agents. If it is really an allergic reaction, you also be allergic to squash and cucumbers.

rim of eyelids very itchy, no red, no swelling. allergic to leaf mold & fall allergens but never this bad. 24 hours. used hubby's zatidor 1x. best tx?

Benadryl (diphenhydramine) - exam: Eye's are sensitive and crucial to most of us. Don't use anyone else's Rx. See a doctor for your particular needs and/or buy Benadryl (diphenhydramine) to see if it helps.  Take care - you'll find it is worth the effort!
