Likely: The bigger question is: is it necessary? I do not recommend colon cleansing to patients. The intestine naturally cleanses the body. There is no good evidence that it produces the results that cleansing touts. The danger of the treatment is that it can cause intestinal perforation or electrolyte imbalances.

Not really: In most cases, it is not dangerous, but there is no proof that it is beneficial, so why have an uncomforatable and costly procedure?  Repeated use may lead to electrolyte imbalance and bacterial overgroth in the colon. Don't do it.

The colon unless inflamed is more than adquate after years of evolution, to deal with the contents without causing problems.  Colonic hydrotherapy is of no proven benefit and cases of water intoxication or colonic perforation have been reported.

Neither: You are 38 and female.  You are curious as to the benefit of colonic hydrotherapy or fleets enema.  Ideally in your age group neither unless your doctor diagnosis you with a colonic problem.  If you are constipated chronically then see a doctor.  The bacteria in your colon are important so washing them out is not advised.  Watch your diet, drink plenty of water.

NO meaningful loss: You may drop a few (average four) pounds with a total colon evacuation of stool, but at what cost to your health and for what long-term goal (the weight comes right back as soon as you eat any meal and replace the stool with food)?  Please read the many healthtap answers that disuade cosmetic use of cleansers or colonics.  Don't do it!
