i have a hard lump protruding from my left side on my collar bone. it doesn't move around and is hard as the bone. any ideas on what this is?

Could be a Bony les-: Ion, like an ecchondroma ( benign condition). It could be the healing bone (callus) as some pts do get a fx without realising it.
Have yourself seen by the pcp and xrays will show what it is, most likely, otherwise others tests (ct or MRI scans) maybe needed.
You would probably need a referral to an orthopod.

my collar bone is slightly protruding from the right side of my sternum and i am experiencing discomfort and moderate pain age16 no previous injuries?

Accepted Answer

If it is: slight asymmetry, it is probably ok.  If it is causing pain, try otc ibuprofen or naprosyn (naproxen).  If there is increase  in size or persistent pain, you should see an orthopedic surgeon.

my collar bone is sticking out (past 60 days). i've been told via a ct scan it's a ganglion cyst pushing the bone. should i request an mri?

No point unless Symp: Unless you're having symptoms related to the collar bone (or unexplained symptoms), there's no point to the MRI. It will only show you the ganglion cyst that you know is already there. It won't push you towards surgery, especially if you don't have symptoms, unless you've talked to a surgeon. Could be: Sometimes the collar bone can fracture during delivery.  Usually, fractures as an infant will heal without deformity.  Have you had a recent injury?  I would have it evaluated to make sure there is not a mass or more significant problem.

are babies born with a broken collar bone in a significant amount of pain?

Accepted Answer

No: Based on experience with both infants and older children with fracture clavicles, the fracture per se does not appear particularly painful, unless the arm is manipulated. That is why stabilizing the arm is an important step in managing this condition, which generally heals itself within a few weeks.

collarbone and bone on top of shoulder sticking out more so on one side which isnt new. feeing sore is for 6 weeks, does feel better and tylenol seams like helping . skinny, prob iron deficient. not worried. could that be it or maybe i strained it?

: What you describe might be an appearance from being thin. It is not from iron deficiency. If feeling better after Tylenol then it could be a strain. If not better or worried best to get checked by your doc. try a heating pad too. Hope you do well

Normal.: Some asymmetry is normal. As long as this is longstanding and not enlarging i don't think there is much to worry about.

: I assume you've had no old injuries.  This asymmetry may not be pathological. It has been stated by some studies that over 20% of people have asymmetry of collarbones. If you still have concerns, have your physician or an.orthopedic specialist examine and advise you.

i have a numbness, fuzzy feeling in one spot on the right side of my chest near my collar bone. is this possibly something serious? it has been a continuous feeling of numbness/loss of sensation in the same spot for at least 2 weeks since i first noticed

Nerve issue: In the absence of pain, swelling, limitation of motion and respiratory difficulties, most likely you have a localized problem with a small sensory nerve in the skin. At any rate if the symptoms persist for 4 to 6 weeks without resolution, you should get a medical examination.

got 3 lumps on right side of neck 1 is 1 cm one below is smaller then i moves around my collar bone and one more on the left side. what could it be?

Lymph nodes?: It sounds as if you're got a few palpable lymph nodes, include at least one of the supraclavicular group. The average young person (my series) has two palpable lymph nodes. If they get really big or become fixed to a nearby structure, ask your physician. Best wishes.
