No: A short course of prednisone should still be tapered, though the danger is little. The night sweats aren't withdrawal. You need proper medical workup including having your heart checked -- it would be a shame to miss endocarditis -- and a search for other causes.

i used prednisone for 3 days for gout.  60mg first, then 40, 20.stopped because of sweats. will i get effects. been off for 36 hrs. little light head.?

Not appropriate ther: Affected joints can be injected.  Typically, patients are given nsaids and started on Colchicine for several days before starting a drug to lower uric acid, which causes gout.  Shotgun therapy with high does steroids may give relief, but side effects are plenty.  I have never done this for gout and I am in rheumatology!

Cannot diagnose: Have no idea why you are on these meds or what your medical history is, but you should not be having drenching sweats.  See your doctor now and make sure you have not activated latent tuberculosis or have some other serious issue.  Hope you get better soon.

Disease : Could it be that this is part of disease progression. Unlikely to be an effect of prednisone. You may want to have some blood and sputum cultures sent out. Also is there a persistent fever or other symptoms.?

i was prescribed prednisone for a respiratory issue (two 20mg tablets 1x a day for 3 days). since starting the rx, i have experienced painful/burning urination, urine leaks when coughing, lower ab pain & night sweats. could this be a uti from the rx?

Not from Prednisone : Steroids may have other side effects including insomnia, mania, weight gain, increased hunger. Prednisones will not cause a urinary tract infection, however you should get those checked out promptly. Simple infections can be easy to treat with an oral antibiotic for a couple of days as opposed to waiting longer or for symptoms to worsen and developing a more severe infection.

URI: You may be suffering from upper respiratory viral syndrome. Please take some rest, take tylenol (acetaminophen) , adequate fluid intake, then you don't get better in 6-12 hours, i would recommend you to go to ed.
