Complex: The weird sensation on the side of your knee sound like paresthesia. This means abnormal sensations, often related to some nerve issues. This can be related to sitting in an unusual position or with some pressure on the nerve that part of the knee, usually associated with some numbness and tingling as well. Other causes may include other injuries in the area. But if bothering you best is to see md.

Meralgia Peristhetic: The scary problem is only annoying.  A nerve that exits  your pelvis just under the bony point in the front  is the culprit. It is irritated, often by tight clothing, and along with the wetness you may feel numbness on the outer side of the thigh with a cold feeling.  Because it is numb people often burn themselves trying to warm it up. The nerve is the anterior femoral cutaneous. Nothing helps!

Sensation: When people describe things with warm or cold or wet or burning, I usually think about the cause as something neurological in nature, such as a pinched nerve or compressed nerve somewhere.  Especially if you have not had any trauma to your knee.  Sounds like you need to get an an evaluation from your doctor .

Knee cap: If X-rays were not reflective of a fracture . You have either strained the quad muscle , or bruised the under surface of the patella . Both can take 6-8 weeks to heal . Ice , NSAIDs may need brace and some physical therapy

Nonspecific: These symptoms are nondiagnostic but may be due to some irritation of superficial nerve cells in the skin rather than a true inflammatory process of a tendon. Unless pain,more discoloration,or limitation of motion develop, I would hold off on any treatment or investigation at this time. See your Physician if symptoms persist or worsen.

i dislocated my left knee a few days ago , went to orthopedic doctor and they said it was back in place on its own .cannot straighten or bend it or put pressure on it . my left foot is cold constantly and wont warm up. should i be concerned ?

: Did they evaluate your foot for vascular flow? Even if a dislocation is back in place, there could be damage to tendons and vascular structures. A thorough examination of the knee by an orthopedic physician should have determined stability and vascular and ligamentous integrity at a minimum. If this was not part of your exam. You may need to be re examined

Rest it: You can try otc meds for pain, try resting it, compressing with an ace wrap, icing it if helpful.  But the best thing you can do is see a dr. And get properly diagnosed so the best treatment can be started.  Good luck.

R/O BAKER'S CYST: Your SX are suggestive of a bakers cyst that may be leaking or potentially ruptured. You need to be examined and have an US or potentially MRI performed On the affected knee and calf. Seek prompt medical attention. Also ortho consult for steroid injection vs arthroscopic removal

Varies : It depends on whetherr or not you had an injury. With an in injury it could many things, from a knee sprain to a cartilage or ligament tear. Without an injury, it could be an infection, gout, or any number of rheumatoid like problems. Either way it sounds like you need a work up for knee pain.
