Not without MD: One should not take a Potassium supplement unless Potassium deficient and not without monitoring.  Clear all medications and supplements with your obgyn. Fiber and water are a more natural treatment option for constipation if you are looking to avoid medications.

No: It lowers the surface tension of water allowing water to stick to other things, so it softens stools by increasing the amount of water in the stool.
It is also used in soaps and shampoos to allow the soap and water to breakdown the oils on the skin and hair.  It is also used in pesticides to allow the pesticide to stick to plants and bugs.

Dietary fiber: In your situation, the best solution first  is to try to increase dietary fiber. In addition to eating more fiber, you might want to consider a fiber supplements such as psyllium. If you do, you should increase your fluid intake also. Good luck.

Docusate has been shown to be minimally effective. There are much better choices for maintaining an effective bowel regimen.
