Depends on how often: This is not easily answered - it all depends on how frequent and the dosing strength of the medication. If you have been on this a long time it will stay in the system longer. Likewise if you are taking a stronger dose the levels may be detected longer.  However, this is a strange question - why would one want to know?

See your doctor: There is no over the counter replacement for codeine. There are multiple other options, but they are all controlled substances that need be prescribed by a physician. See your doctor to determine which is best for you.

Yes: Drugs tests look for 2 essential chemicals when they look for opiates - Codeine and morphine, which are similar compounds and they are both converted into each other. Hydrocodone is metabolized into Codeine which is then transformed by acetylation to morphine. These are the final common pathway products for most, but not all, opiates. Oxycodone produces relatively little, is has separate test.

i have chronic rls after 3yrs on mirapex (pramipexole) it now causes symptoms to worsen! also on codeine sulfate. what's next? thought i'd found the relief

Troublesome! : Rls is very troublesome.  All the meds we use show tolerance over time.  You can google the laundry list of meds we use (sinemet, klonopin, neurontin, mirapex, (pramipexole) etc.) but your best bet is to sit down with a sleep specialist in your area.  He/she can guide next med selection.  Btw, occasionally 400 mg of magnesium helps before bedtime.  Cheap,  too. Best of luck!

f/57 having hysteroscopy d&c tomorrow with general anesthesia .can i take my medication today.? which are paxil 40mg ativan 1mg  codeine sulfate 120mg. anastrazole 1mg i take all thsse daily.forgot to ask my doctor and today sunday clinic are close.

Hysteroscopy/D&amp;C: Patient is already scheduled for hysteroscopy/d&amp;C with general anesthesia. Patient should take paxil, Ativan and codeine today and do not take any in am. Avoid anastarzole(NSAID) today, tomorrow and resume day after surgery. Inform the anesthesiologist and your doctor of all that you took in am.

Maybe.: Watson 349 contains Acetaminophen and a narcotic.  In general one or two tabs will be ok, but your physician and Coumadin (warfarin) monitoring service should be aware.  You should not take this on a regular basis.
