can you use tea tree oil to treat skin burns?

Not really...: Tea tree oil is effective against germs and fungus because of the presence of terpenoids like terpenin-4-ol. It has also been used in allopathic medicine and in the treatment of burns. Studies have shown the cytotoxicity of tea tree oil against human fibroblast and epithelial cells and therefore it has been suggested that tea tree oil should not be used on burn wounds.

i had 2nd degree burns on my hand the pig skin grafts peeled off. is coconut oil ok to use on my new skin? how effective is it? i was burned by oil.

Not a fan of oils: Not sure how far out of the burn you are and how far the healing has progressed. So I'll answer as if the graft failed early on. I tend to be a fan of collagen dressings with or without grafts. I have been successful treating second degree burns with nothing except daily cleansing with dilute dakins solution and collagen gel as a primary dressing and then a non stick secondary.

Not sunscreen: Coconut oil will not work as a sunscreen but will be a nice moisturizer!

Olive &amp; Coconut Oils: Both are good for the skin but much more beneficial if you ingest them also.  They can help reduce inflammation, nourish nerves and brain, etc.  Peace and good health.  If you are on blood thinners check w/doc first.

Fungal infection: Any wound in the skin can experience infection with bacteria or fungus (yeast) while it is healing. The dry skin and cracks which you describe sounds like the healing wound has been infected with fungus (yeast) which can cause redness, pain cracking and dry flaky patches. Use a cream/spray made for athletes foot 3 daily for 2 weeks. You should see improvement within 2-3 days but don't stop.

Many: We rate burns;
1st degree is a sunburn;try aloe
2nd degree is a blister: leave it covered, don't break the blister, and some otc antibiotic cream/ointment is O.K.;rx silvadene (silver sulfadiazine) is better.
3rd degree is burned thru the skin and must be seen by a dr.Many ramifications.

Burn Types: Depends on the type of skin burn: First degree burns are red, painful and dry but no blisters. No ointment. Apply a hydrocolloid pad for pain relief. Second degree burns are red, swollen and blistered. Do not pop the blister. Apply antibiotic ointment and cover with a soft non-stick gauze pad. Third Degree burns appear white, charred and painless since the nerves are destroyed. See a DR for these.

Hard to say: It is possible that some part of your skin care routine includes something that is triggering the increased sensitivity. If nothing has changed you can still develop a sensitivity to a component of the material over time. As this is interfering with your enjoyment of life I would consult a dermatologist on the problem &amp; learn of ways you can reduce the sensitivity.

Allergies?: Perhaps you are allergic or sensitive to one of the ingredients.  Change and see what happens.

So many reasons: There are so many reasons you can experience these symptoms.  Have you tried any new detergents or body washes?  Have you been traveling or exposed to any new substances?   These symptoms could be related to any number of problems, so i urge you to visit your primary care physician or even your dermatologist for further analysis.
