Nearly so: For a definitive answer you should get a HIV nucleic acid test done at 12 weeks after the exposure. If that is negative that will essentially rule out HIV infection. Even the combo test, if negative at 12 weeks would be strong evidence against the infection.

: It's third generation, but it probably doesn't matter. After 8 weeks since the last possible exposure, third and fourth generation tests are equally accurate. And the dual rapid test system in use in some geographic areas (like some countries in Southern Africa) is 100% conclusive.
