Perhaps you : Have an entrapped nerve? Sometimes itching can be close to numbness or tingling.....Is their a rash? Any skin discoloration? Peeling skin?

i am circumsized and my penis glan is irritated and have some kind of allergy. have tried clortimazole but didn't work and i feel like it makes my skin more irritated. any idea what it could be and what else can be used to treat?

Exclude: see if you wore diff type of unerwear or used diff. type of detergent. clean area and try benadryl oint. if not better see urologist

Drying centrally: "Ringworm" or Tinea Corporis is relatively common   acquired fungal skin infection, is amenable to topical therapy with the lotrimin. Apply the cream at least two centimeters around the lesion for two weeks. Resolution of the infection will be apparent as the lesion no longer increases in size and shows drying centrally.  Nummular Eczema can look like Ringworm but is treated differently.

i think i might have ringworm on my cheek. i have been using anti fungal cream with clotrimazole for about a week, but there's signs of no improvement and it might have even got worse. it is redder and itchier. is there anything i should do?

: You've diagnosed yourself and are using a medication that may not be effective against your condition. See a dermatologist for a definitive diagnosis of your skin condition. Only then can the appropriate treatment be rendered.

Can take longer: A fungal infection using topicals can take up to 4 weeks.  You could have a superimposed bacterial infection.  If fungal oral Diflucan (fluconazole) at 200mg every other day for 5 doses mat hasten recovery but you may need abx and evaluation.  A good gp should be able to help.

No: Lotrimin (clotrimazole) is an antifungal cream, and what you need is an antiviral drug like acyclovir or valacyclovir as herpes is a virus and not a fungus.

is it safe to use clotrimazole dusting powder everyday for a long term?

Accepted Answer

Clotrimoxazole: In all probability this should not be a problem, but is usually unnecessary and the question then becomes, are you having difficulty clearing a chronic skin superficial fungus infection? If so, it would be a good idea to see a dermatologist.  Good luck.
