Not for long: The rectum can sense solids like stool better than liquids, like diarrhea, but the water frm an enema wil either be absorbed (a very small amount) or be expelled. It won't stay very long.

NO: This is neither safe nor appropriate.  Nor is it appropriate for yourself to administer a hypotonic enema twice daily.

Weak muscles: The muscles of the rectum could be weak and cause these symptoms.  A rectocele is the result of these muscles being weak.  A colorectal surgeon could help possibly address this issue further.  I hope this helps.

Depends, maybe: Depending upon the extent of impaction and the hardness and density of the stool, salt water or mineral water enemas may help (the latter is more comfortable due to lubrication of the anal canal). If these strategies along with laxatives fail, you need an evaluation by an ER doctor or a gastrointerologist to assess for location of the impaction to develop a reasonable treatment plan.

hey ive been posing about the plastic poland spring water bottle cap i accidentally swallowed... its been about a week and a half and i feel great but when i pooped earlier it was so small but felt big concerned could it be stuck in rectum pls awns?

See doctor..: In order to find out if there is stool/bottle cap “stuck” in your rectum, you will need to be examined by a doctor. Your primary care doctor is a good place to start. If that doctor is unable to diagnose the problem, he/she could refer you to a GI specialist. Best of luck to you!

Just rectum: Glycerin is an irritant stimulant. It only affects the area it comes in contact with. However, by relieving a blockage in the rectum, you may be able to fully empty your colon, especially if you have used a stool softener by mouth.

Nephrogenic DI: Flatulence after colorectal surgery is not uncommon, especially in the early post-op stage. Dietary modification/alteration may help. Water intake of 2 liters is not excessive depending on ones needs. Nephrogenic diabetes insipidous secondary to hypercalcmia of neoplastic etiology can explaine the increased water intake. Di can persist after hyprcalcemia subsides. Internal med consult is advised.

Colonoscopy: It sounds like you are already prepped as lactulose is a potent osmotic laxative and based on stool characteristics.Cannot comment on the possibility of a partial obstruction or structure with limited information. Would suggest calling the office of the doc performing procedure asking for further directions as they likely have access to your detailed medical history.
