It's working: As long as you're taking your birth control pills correctly, then you should assume it's working. Your discharge can change even on birth control pills. And even if you ovulate, the birth control pills work in other ways. They can also thicken the cervical mucus and prevent sperm from penetrating. Having said that, every method has a small failure rate.

Your mucous is expected to change during each cycle from stretchy and thin during ovulation and thick and sticky afterwards until your period. It is not normal for mucous to stay the same consistency throughout the entire month. No worries if not malodorous or causing other symptoms.
