Less toxic: Air that is filtered and clean will lessen the load of debris that your body will have to deal with.  The body, however, is very effective at cleaning itself out if you give it a chance.  Breathing clean air will help with this goal.

Complicated question: Tb is mycobacterium tuberculosis.  There are more than sever related mycobacterium species though.  It is contagious..Very in fact if you have active pulmonary disease.  Other forms are less infective or pose no threat transmit at all like bone infection (pott's puffy tumor).  Can breathing clean air help..Well..It won't hurt.  Thats what the TB sanitariums of the 16-20th centuries were doing.

Humidity: Both are effective for increasing humidity in a room. Vaporizers tend to create environment that can promote growth of bacteria, so you have to make sure you clean it daily and change water. Vaporizers also can be dangerous to toddlers and small children as the steam can cause burns if touched by little hands. Neither is going to clean the air. You need an air purifier for this.

Doctor visit: Many patients are being examined in physicians offices during this pandemic and, because of their office and waiting room policies, transmission of covid seems quite uncommon. There are no guarantees. However the physicians and their staff keep their masks on which protects you. If your needed appointment must be in person and if it's very important, I think you should make that visit.

What dust?: What kind of a room are you talking about. There shouldn't be dust in the air after the surfaces are cleaned, unless you're in a peanut butter factory or something. Use a basic hepafilter vacuum, clean the room surfaces with cleaning wipes, and you should be ok.

i had spilled nail polish remover on my floor. i did my best to clean it up and air out my room. the smell persisted for about a week. is it harmful to smell or inhale it in that manner?

: If it was usual size bottle 236 -400 Ml, not much should be left as it evaporates quickly. Nail polish remover is mostly acetylene so clean the surface with soap and hot water. Hope it helps.

Not to worry: Many people having cleaning "obsessions". As long as it is not negatively affecting your life (work, family, friends) or causing negative feelings in you, it may just be a personality trait (obsessive-compulsive personality). If it is negatively affecting your life and you have compulsion to clean all the time no matter what, then it is a disorder. This can be managed with psychotherapy.
